Fortnite Chapter 2 Remix is coming to an end as leaks around the next season are already underway. The upcoming Chapter 6 is based on an ancient Japan theme where players will act as Hunters to fight demons on the island.
Among those demons, is the mighty Godzilla who is also arriving on the map during the new season, however, it is unclear if it will be a boss or simply a Battle Pass skin. Alongside these additions, a new feature is being added to the game which will grant some special abilities to players to slay these demons during Battle Royale gameplay.
Fortnite Chapter 6 will add Oni Masks with special abilities
According to a recent teaser posted by Fortnite Competitive and numerous leaks by data miners such as HYPEX, Epic is adding four abilities to the game which will let players control elements like Water, Fire, Wind and a Void which will act as a portal.
However, to access these abilities, special Oni Masks will be added to the game as an item that players can get during a Battle Royale match on the Fortnite island. These abilities can turn the tide for players as they can be extremely overpowered, similar to the elemental bending abilities that were added with the Avatar collab.
While the community is always looking forward to new weapons and features added to the gameplay, this time around as well, they’re anticipating new metas to emerge. One such player said, “New way to eliminate players. You’ve been sent to the void.”
Another user wrote, “Why didn’t the bleach crossover come when the sword and mask were going to be added?” A third one commented, “Those masks are gonna be this chapter’s version of medallions you think?”
While the hypothesis given by the third user may prove to be correct, heavy speculation still lies with masks being mythic items that players can find at specific areas around the island, or even a special chest containing them. We’ll update you as more info on the new item is released.
