The Halloween event in Fortnite is just a few days away. Epic Games released a build-up update on Thursday, teasing some potential content that will arrive next week. The upcoming event will be massive, and it will bring new weapons, skins, map changes, and more. Interestingly, the game developer has already given us an early look at the map changes.
Not only will the Battle Royale island go through changes, but Fortnite will also release a new Reload map for the event. So without further ado, let’s see what’s waiting for us next week.
The Halloween event will bring map changes in Fortnite
With the first Fortnitemares teaser, Epic revealed that the Battle Royale map will have a red filter in many places. The sky will have a different color, while the giant wolf sculpture at Predator Peak will have a glow in its eyes. Besides these, we expect many other changes, including many Halloween decorations over the island.
While the Fortnite Battle Royale map will receive temporary changes for the Halloween event, the Reload mode will get an entirely new map. This map was added to the game with the latest update, but hasn’t been released to servers yet.
The new Reload map is ready for release during the Fortnitemares 2025 event. However, it won’t come out for everyone right away. Instead, Fortnite players will have to compete in a new cup to unlock access to the new Reload map. Everyone who finishes in the top 25% in their region will get access to the map on October 9, as well as the Dark Maw skin for free.
The upcoming Halloween event in Fortnite will bring many new skins, including icons like Ghostface and Jason Voorhees. It will likely begin on October 9 and end in late October.
