Fortnite is adding a new V-Bucks feature next week. Epic Games announced this feature last month, which will allow players to reload their in-game currency. In other words, players will be able to purchase smaller increments of V-Bucks, starting with 50. Interestingly, this will also grant many players some free V-Bucks!
On Friday, Epic will round up everyone’s V-Bucks to prepare for the upcoming Fortnite feature. This means that some players will receive extra currency, which may help them obtain a new cosmetic item.
How to get free V-Bucks in Fortnite?
Epic Games will grant extra V-Bucks to everyone who doesn’t have a rounded balance. For example, players who have 1010 V-Bucks in their accounts will get 40 V-Bucks, while those who have 1040 will get 10. The goal is to round up to the nearest 50.
“Fortnite V-Bucks and Rocket League Credits players with balances will be rounded up to the nearest 50 on October 10,” Epic Games announced last month.
This is just a small amount of V-Bucks and is certainly not a game-changer. However, when coupled with free V-Bucks from the current Fortnite Battle Pass, this change may help some players afford an extra cosmetic item. Furthermore, the upcoming feature will make cosmetic items more affordable, as players will be able to purchase between 50 and 2800 V-Bucks in smaller increments.
Interestingly, this change has also resulted in larger rewards from Fortnite: Save the World. Although it’s not very popular, the PvE mode is perfect for obtaining free V-Bucks with daily quests and V-Bucks missions. In the past, missions used to reward between 25-40 V-Bucks, which was buffed to 50. Daily quests now grant 100 or 150 V-Bucks, yet the previous maximum was 130.
