Squashing bugs in the new Fortnite season has turned out to be a great idea! After destroying a billion of them, players will receive a free reward. Epic Games announced this on Friday night, revealing a couple of details about its potential release date.

As we are only two weeks into Season 4, we can expect even more rewards in the future. But for now, let’s check what free cosmetic item is waiting for us.

All Fortnite players will receive a free item soon

Bugs have played a big role in the new Fortnite season, as there are hundreds of them infesting the island. Most of them are very easy to eliminate and are not a real threat, so squashing them is relatively fast. Throughout the first two weeks, players have eliminated more than a billion of these hostile NPCs, which is why they will receive a reward.

On Friday night, Epic Games revealed that players would receive a free back bling in Fortnite soon. The game developer hasn’t revealed the release date yet, but we do know that the reward will come in a future update. “As a thank you O.X.R. is working on a special Back Bling for your efforts, delivered to all Fortnite players in a future update,” Epic wrote on X.

The next Fortnite update is set for Tuesday, August 26, and Epic may add the back bling with it. This update will also add the Front Man skin from Squid Game, along with many other cosmetics. Since it’s a second major update of the season, we expect it to bring gameplay and map changes as well.

While waiting for the update and the reward, check out how to unlock all the free Fortnite skins. Some of them will expire at the end of August, so grab them while they are available.
