The recent v25.10 update for Fortnite has brought a number of changes and additions. However, players are getting frustrated as yet another nerf has been applied to the game’s fishing mechanic. In the update, Epic Games noted that the frequency of fishing spots has been reduced.
However, the reduction in fishing spots isn’t the only miscellaneous change to come to Fortnite. In a recent Fortnite blog post outlining the changes made to Fortnite in v25.10, Epic Games outlined the following miscellaneous updates:
- Chickens and Sky Jellies have been vaulted.
- The population of wolves and that of boars have been reduced.
- The frequency of fishing spots has been reduced.
One user by the name of EzBugatti99 took to Reddit to air their frustration at the changes to fishing saying, “Why is fishing getting constantly nerfed? Since the removal of most of the fishes and harpoons, I barely see anyone fishing and now you made it even worse.” Another player was also disappointed by the change saying, “I only fish with a harpoon gun. Also, reduced animal spawns highly upsets me.”
User alexeratops criticized the changes saying, “Epic makes WILDS less wild by removing animals.” However, another user theorized that the reason for Epic Games’ change to wildlife and fishing might be down to “reducing the reliance on wildlife, to encourage people to find heals from floor loot and make battles more intense.”
Over on Twitter, many players lamented the removal of Sky Jellies with Artys_Missives saying, “The sky jelly and fishing spot things are Ls.” Some players, including Better_calm, couldn’t understand Epic’s reason for reducing the population of wolves and boars saying, “Why reduce boars and wolves? Reducing mobility cause the Shockwave grenades were added?”
The latest update has caused quite a stir with some players as Fortnite fans beg Epic to fix Ranked after Rank reset. It also looks like theres set to be more collaboration between Marvel and Fortnite in the future, but some Fortnite fans demand DC return as Marvel collab leaks look dull.
