One of Fortnite’s most popular game modes is finally set to make its way back into the game in Chapter 5 Season 2. The Floor Is Lava LTM was a massive hit back with it first dropped in Update v8.20 way back in 2019. And though it got a quick remake in Chapter 2 Season 5 a year later, we’ve not seen or heard from it since.

Well with the Greek mythology theme around Chapter 5 Season 2, it looks like Epic Games have been listening to fans and teased the LTM coming back in style. A post on X (formerly Twitter) from user @ShiinaBR claims that the game mode is returning, citing a message about the mythical Midas enchanting lava as he escaped from the Underworld.

If you didn’t play the Floor Is Lava LTM when it first came around, then you’re in for a treat as it was massively popular at the time. In this mode, lava starts rising all across the island, and you need to get yourself as many materials as you can to build upwards and avoid the lava.

It’s one of the most unique modes that Epic Games have come up with, as the aim of the game isn’t to take out other players as much as it is just to stay alive yourself. The approach and strategy is completely different, and it’s no surprise that fans are excited to see it back.

Aside from this returning game mode, there’s plenty of other amazing content to get to grips with in Chapter 5 Season 2, with new weapons, a new map, and of course, a brand-new Battle Pass themed around Greek mythology and full of incredible skins to check out too.
