The Delulu mode has been a huge hit in Fortnite. The mode features chaotic battle royale combat that integrates proximity chat. It’s only active on the weekends, and during the second session, Epic Games has made several improvements. Now, players can win as a squad, and they can also communicate with others more easily.
Since proximity chat is essential in this game mode, Fortnite made it easier for players from certain regions to communicate with others. In other words, this improvement will be significant for players from non-English countries, as it will be much easier for them to find teammates now.
Fortnite proximity chat in Delulu just received a significant upgrade in two regions
What makes Delulu different from other game modes is not only proximity chat. One of the other unique things is its team composition. Even if players queue up for a match as a squad, they will be split up at the start and put at different starting spots. Due to this, using proximity chat is a must, as players need to form squads on the go.
The recent update improved matchmaking and proximity chat in Delulu by matching players more often with others who speak the same language.
This improvement is now live in Europe and Brazil matchmaking regions. However, we can expect it to slowly roll out on other servers, such as Asia and the Middle East. Delulu has once again peaked at around 100,000 concurrent players, so we expect Epic Games to keep improving it in the future.
The second Delulu session will stay active until Monday, September 29. After that, the mode will be disabled for four days before its return on the first Friday in November.
