Deku’s Smash has returned to Fortnite with the v26.10 update. Considering that the latest update brought another My Hero Academia collaboration, this comes as no surprise. The Mythic item has always been quite controversial, and some players even believe that it ruined the entire season.

While there’s no doubt that the anime ability is powerful, it’s quite easy to counter it in Season 4. Besides Deku’s Smash, Epic Games also added Todoroki’s Ice Wall, which happens to be a perfect counter for it.

Despite the counter, many players are unhappy about the item and would like it to be removed soon.

Deku’s Smash is arguably the most controversial Fortnite item

Epic Games once again added Deku’s Smash to All Mighty Supply Drops. These drops fall periodically in the safe zone and contain both My Hero Academia Mythic items. While the ice wall is a perfect counter for the other Mythic item, a lot of players still complain.

Reddit user Little_Timmy_is_Back believes that Epic Games ruined a perfect season with the Mythic item.

“This season was being heralded as the best in this chapter. It was extremely well balanced. Mobility was good. Weapon pool was fair and balanced. There were no OP Mythics that were ruining the game. So why Epic… why must you ruin a good thing? This season didn’t need this nonsense,” the Reddit user wrote.

64BitDragon pointed out that Deku’s Smash will leave the game with the next update, which is great news for them: “Thank god. According to the patch notes it seems it leaves next update.”

“They always manage to ruin it with some stupid addition,” Fortnitesworstsniper wrote, while Drewskeet called the item incredibly annoying. Redditor allhailzamasu94 has a simple solution that would make the item better: “It just needs [to be] nerfed badly.”

Many other Fortnite players have complained about the item, and some even made fun of Epic Games for bringing it back. However, considering that Fortnite has more than 500 million players, it’s hard to say what exactly all of them want.

Deku’s Smash will be vaulted with the v26.20 update, which will likely come out on September 26. In the meantime, players will have to learn how to use Todoroki’s Ice Wall and other items to counter it.
