Epic Games has no mercy for Fortnite cheaters. This year alone, the company has banned numerous players, while also making a handful of them publicly apologize. On top of this, one cheater was forced to pay $175,000, which is a hefty sum of money.
Despite all the legal trouble that cheaters have found themselves in, some players keep cheating. Recently, Epic banned two more players, making them apologize to the community in YouTube videos. Both players received lifetime bans and won’t be able to play the game ever again.
Fortnite cheaters were humiliated once again
Earlier this year, Epic Games unbanned cheaters who had been banned for a year or longer. This decision affected a small number of players, and some of them, such as those who sold and distributed cheats, did not get a second chance. Interestingly, the Fortnite creator did this while also announcing stricter penalties for players breaking the rules.
A few months later, several players have received lifetime bans, and some of them had to publicly apologize to Epic and the Fortnite community. This includes Zebsi and Mirrored, who were both caught and banned for breaking the rules.
Zebsi, who has over two thousand subscribers on YouTube, apologized for carrying out DDoS attacks in Fortnite. These attacks impacted numerous players, including streamers.
“My accounts have been banned from Fortnite. I regret my actions and will not be involved in any more DDoS attacks,” Zebsi wrote in the video.
Mirrored is another player who received a lifetime ban in Fortnite. The player not only cheated in the game but also sold and distributed cheats. As a consequence, Epic Games took legal action against them.
“I would like to apologize to the Fortnite community for both cheating in Fortnite tournaments and selling and distributing cheats and hardware that enabled others to cheat,” Mirrored posted in an apology video. “I violated Epic’s rules and they have taken legal action against me. I am banned from playing Fortnite forever and I’ll face legal action if I sell or distribute cheats again.”
Considering Epic’s stance on this issue, we expect more Fortnite cheaters to receive lifetime bans in the future. Depending on the severity of the infraction, some cases may even go to the court, which has already happened a few times.
