When it comes to cosmetic items in Fortnite, the first choice for players to make a purchase is always the Battle Pass. The 100-tier system that was launched in the game during its early days is still a hit choice among players if they prefer to get skins in the game.
Over time, not only Battle Royale, but game modes such as Festival and LEGO have all received their own versions of Battle Passes that players can buy. However, Epic has now announced major changes that will change these passes forever.
Epic announces massive changes to Fortnite Battle Pass and progression across all game modes
Fortnite has just announced its biggest change to Battle Pass yet, which will allow players to progress all passes (Battle Royale, LEGO, and Festival) at the same time by doing any activity that gives XP, in any experience.

Furthermore, the Festival Pass will be renamed to the Music Pass starting November 1st. Adding to these changes, Battle Stars, Festival Points, and Studs will all be retired as a currency system.
Festival Points will go away on November 2, and Studs and Battle Stars will go away on December 1 when Chapter 6 arrives. Once these earned currencies are retired, the Battle Pass, Music Pass, and LEGO Pass will simply unlock rewards for you to claim as you earn XP.
That’s not all — new Music and LEGO Passes released after December 1 will be one track of both free and premium rewards. The current “Brick or Treat” LEGO Pass will keep the dual track format (Free Reward Track and Premium Reward Track) before the next LEGO Pass moves to one track. The upcoming Music Pass will also have dual tracks and will move to one track with the next Music Pass that follows.
Additionally, Fortnite has also announced that a Battle Pass, Music Pass, and LEGO Pass bundle is most likely coming in the future. They said, “You’ll still need to purchase the Battle Pass, Music Pass, and/or LEGO Pass separately to access all premium rewards in each pass. Stay tuned, you’ll soon have an easy way to snag all premium passes at once!”
Another major change that comes with this is that instead of buying levels to unlock rewards, you’ll now be able to directly purchase pass rewards (up to the allowed limit) without progressing to them on any active pass you have purchased. This means you’ll be able to use those V-Bucks to unlock a reward on any of the pages you want.
However, the Battle Pass will still use the current page system, where you can select the reward you want, but it’s currently unknown how this will look with the Battle Stars being retired.
