The newest Fortnite update arrived on Tuesday morning and brought a couple of gameplay changes. The highlight of the update is the Mortal Kombat collaboration, which brings new quests and map changes. Besides it, Epic Games released April Fools’ Day quests, allowing players to earn additional XP while playing the game. Finally, the Fortnite developer also released a couple of buffs and nerfs.
In this article, we will take a detailed look at the balance changes that arrived with the latest Fortnite update.
What did today’s Fortnite update bring? Buffs and nerfs revealed
While today’s Fortnite update is mostly focused on the Mortal Kombat collaboration, Epic also added a few smaller changes. For starters, the Infiltrator Pump Shotgun was unvaulted. This close-range weapon was also buffed, as its damage drastically increased. Furthermore, the game developer released Scorpion’s Kombat Kit, another weapon great for close-range combat.
Here is how much Epic buffed the pump shotgun:
| Stat | Old value | New value |
|---|---|---|
| Damage | 77/80/85/89/93 | 91/95/101/106/111 |
| Maximum damage | 115/120/125/130/135 | 155/160/165/170/175 |
As the table above shows, Epic buffed the Infiltrator Pump Shotgun by approximately 20%. With this increase, the weapon now also deals more headshot damage, up to 175.

Patch notes for the latest Fortnite update also reveal a nerf, which is rather massive. The Twin Mag Assault Rifle had its damage nerfed by 3 hit points for every rarity. Considering this, we expect the pick rate of this weapon to drastically decrease over the next few weeks. With Fortnite Chapter 6 – Season 3 coming in early May, it’s unlikely that Epic will release more balance changes for this weapon.
The next Fortnite update is scheduled for April 8 and will be the second-to-last update of Season 2.
