The next big Fortnite update is around the corner! Epic Games will release it on Tuesday morning, adding new content to the video game. Since this is another major update of Chapter 6 – Season 2, servers will go down for a scheduled maintenance. Fortunately, this process won’t take too long, as Epic has already revealed the expected duration of it.

Even before the update comes out, PlayStation and Xbox users can pre-download it. This means that it’s possible to grab the update ahead of its release and then simply play it once the server come back up.

How long will the Fortnite downtime be?

Epic Games has announced that the Fortnite downtime will last just 90 minutes, starting at 4 AM Eastern Time (8 AM GMT) and ending at 5:30 AM ET (9:30 AM GMT). This will be one of the shortest downtimes, and if all goes as planned, players should be able to access the game again in under two hours after the servers go down.

It’s worth mentioning that the game developer hasn’t always been precise with these downtime estimates. Nevertheless, it provides a general idea of when servers should be back online. During the previous Fortnite downtime, Epic estimated it would last five hours, and the servers returned to normal after about five hours and 20 minutes.

Once the Fortnite servers go back up, players will get access to all the new content. Epic will release numerous map changes, including three Mortal Kombat-themed locations. The update will also bring Scorpion, a new NPC. He will be found in one of the three new locations and will drop his Kombat Kit as well as a new Medallion.
