The final update of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is around the corner. Epic Games will release it this week and add a lot of new content with it. Considering that Season 2 of Fortnite Festival will come out on Thursday, Epic decided to release the update on the same day.
Thanks to a few confirmations by Epic, as well as leaks, we already have an idea of what will arrive with the next Fortnite update. Besides the new season, the game developer will release new cosmetics, and possibly event files for the end of the season. On top of that, we expect a couple of changes to the loot pool.
The next Fortnite update will bring a new Festival season
The upcoming update will add all the necessary files for Fortnite Festival Season 2. The first season and its event pass will end, meaning that you only have two more days to complete it. This also means that The Weeknd will likely leave the Item Shop since he was a season-long collaboration. Season 2 will bring new Jam Tracks, artists, new event pass, and a lot of other content. Lady Gaga, a popular artist who’s won numerous Grammy Awards, has been confirmed for Season 2.

Besides the Festival mode, the other game modes will also get new content. More specifically, Epic Games already teased the fishing feature for LEGO Fortnite, and we also expect more gameplay changes, bug fixes, and new building structures. Rocket Racing, another big game mode, will likely get new maps and cosmetic items.
While all of these modes are amazing, most players are interested in Fortnite Battle Royale. This is the most popular game mode, and the next update will bring the following:
- New cosmetic items (possible new collaborations, including Disney)
- Map changes
- New quests (Weekly and Narrative)
- Potential unvaults (Rift-to-Go, Big Bush Bomb, Kinetic Blade)
- Files regarding a potential season-ending event (not confirmed)
- Possible Chapter 5 Season 2 files
- Potential return of Reality Augments
- Bug fixes
It’s important to note that these are only early patch notes for Fortnite. Epic will add a lot of other content, but we’ll have to wait for it to come out before we see everything that arrived with the update. Many leakers believe that we will get a new season-ending event, and if this happens, we’ll get all the necessary files for it with the v28.30 update.
Since this is the last update of the current season, almost all free Fortnite skins will expire at the end of it. Due to this, make sure to unlock them as soon as possible. Furthermore, all the rewards from the Battle Pass won’t be obtainable after the conclusion of the season, and if you need to unlock them quickly, check out our list of the best Fortnite XP maps.
