Kepler Interactive and A44 have announced an open-world action RPG entitled Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn coming later in 2022.

Here’s the blurb. “The Door to the Afterlife has been opened, allowing the old God’s army of the undead to escape from within. The living are on the brink of extinction. It’s time for the coalition army to retake their world. Embrace vengeance, gunpowder and magic and embark on an epic journey to lead mankind’s final siege against the tide of the dead.”

The game promises to combine the supernatural with guns and gunpowder, where you’ll join the coalition army. You’ll get to unleash combos that use both magic with more traditional weaponry, and also be able to command a magical part-dog, part-raccoon creature as you’ll see in the trailer.

Expect a dangerous open world, with plenty of variety in biomes mentioned such as desert sands, cavernous ruins and a deserted city. You’ll be recruiting help along the way too, as part of your mission sees you reassembling the Balckstream sappers. Previously, the developers worked on 2018 action RPG Ashen.

You can check out the trailer below, courtesy of IGN. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year. A more specific date has not been given, but it will also be available from launch on Xbox Game Pass.
