The original 16-bit version of Flashback will be included with next month’s HD remake, Ubisoft has announced.

The remake, which is due to hit Xbox LIVE Arcade on August 21, will include the 1993 classic to let “a new generation of players… experience a game that helped define sci-fi action/adventure games,” Ubisoft says.

The whole package will cost players 800 Microsoft Points.

Flashback originally launched on the Amiga in 1992 before being ported to a variety of platforms, including the SEGA Mega Drive and Super Nintendo, in 1993.

The game is fondly remembered for being one of the better action/adventure titles on the 16-bit consoles.

A release date for the PlayStation 3 version has yet to be announced.
