Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that PS3 firmware 2.40 is to be released Wednesday, July 2. The update will include a host of new features, one of which is the highly anticipated Trophy system.
Trophies will recognise players’ achievements in the online arena, with gold, silver and bronze available. Gamers who achieve all three trophies will also be awarded the platinum trophy which can be displayed on the XMB for everyone to see.
Super Stardust HD will be the first game to support the Trophies system and will be joined by a variety of first-party games, including:
