Gas Powered Games, the acclaimed PC video game studio (Supreme Commander), has revealed the first screens of its upcoming PC team-based action title Demigod. Supreme Commander impressed with its huge scale battles and while Demigod doesn’t appear to offer the same mammoth wars the visuals are certainly very impressive.
The game is set in a future-fantasy world with the player cast as a hero waging war to obtain a place within the pantheon gods. How the game plays depends on the playable Demigod character type chosen: choose General and the game becomes a strategy title, but choose Assassin and it becomes an action-RPG.
The concept sounds interesting and with a heavy focus on cooperative play Demigod could become a new favourite amongst PC gamers looking for a multiplayer fix. A single-player mode is also promised, but this is said to be more of a training ground for the online game than a fleshed out story mode.
Demigod is scheduled for release on PC later in 2008.
