A Firewatch update has been released which enable PS4 Pro enhancements, benefiting both 4K and 1080p users, developer Campo Santao has announced.

“If you’re one of the first to pick up a new Playstation Pro this week, be happy to know that Firewatch has been updated to support the new console,” reads the studio’s blog.

PS Pro Customers with a 1080p Display: Enhanced detail distance, smoother loads, and much higher quality shadows

PS Pro Customers with a 4K Display: The world is now rendered at WQHD (2560x1440p) and the UI renders at 4KUHD (3840×2160) and you will have enhanced level of detail.

There’s no mention of HDR support which is a shame given the use of light in the game.

In addition to the PS4 Pro features, Free Roam Mode is also included in the update. In the new mode you can live in the Shoshone with a full day/night cycle and explore to discover a few hidden secrets.
