Despite rumours that the recently shuttered Multiverse MMO platform project would affect the release of a Firefly-themed MMO based off of the Joss Whedon television show, all is not lost.
Developer Multiverse Foundation got access to the freely-released source code for the platform, and the new team is in the process of working “full-time on the actual MMO creation platform”.
They are also securing the rights to Firefly due to fan interest, Massively reports.
No word on whether a Buffy MMO is still in the works.
