Square Enix has confirmed the long-awaited Final Fantasy XVI PC release date. After over a year of PS5 exclusivity, the massive RPG is finally making its jump to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Final Fantasy XVI PC release date
In a surprise reveal by Square Enix, Final Fantasy XVI’s PC release date is scheduled for September 17, 2024. Available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, the awesome RPG will now be available on everything from gaming laptops to Steam Decks.
Final Fantasy XVI PC will cost $49.99/£44.99 on launch. However, the new PC port does not come with the game’s Expansion Pass or The Rising Tide expansion. Instead, these will be additional purchases for players who wish to enjoy the full experience.
Furthermore, Square Enix has not confirmed any PC-specific features for this release. Nevertheless, we do expect the new port to feature faster framerates, better ray-tracing and reconstruction methods such as DLSS, XeSS and FSR 3.1.
On the other hand, Square Enix has confirmed the game’s system requirements, and they are intense. While hardware only requires an Nvidia GTX 1070 and an i5 8400 to play, it also requires a massive 170GB of storage. 64GB Steam Deck owners are wailing.
There’s currently no news regarding a Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC release date.
Demo Available Now
Alongside the confirmation of the PC port, players can download a demo for the new version right here. Available on Steam and Epic, the new demo gives players a slice of the game to enjoy before its full release next month.
The new FFXVI demo will give players a healthy crack at the game, but only a little bit. With how vast the game is, we can promise this game is only breaking the surface of a truly gigantic experience.
