The dev teams from Final Fantasy XV and Assassin’s Creed Origins have unveiled a collaboration whereby the two games ‘pay homage to each other’s gaming universes’. This has apparently been brewing for almost three years ago.
The whole thing kicks off on August 30, as Final Fantasy XV players who managed to pick up the Dream Egg at the Moogle Chocobo Carnival will receive an Assassin’s Creed outfit for Noctis. The next day, August 31, sees the start of the Assassin’s Festival, a free DLC for FFXV that will ‘transform’ Lestallum, and add new activities, themed items and features (including another AC outfit).
The #AssassinsFestival is taking over Lestallum!

Apparently the teams have been hiding Easter eggs in their respective videos too, going back as far as the Final Fantasy XV Omen video from October 2016, and including the more recent AC Origins cinematic and gameplay videos.
Ashraf Ismail, game director on Origins, said, ‘This collaboration is the result of being huge fans. There’s a lot of respect between the two teams and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to pay homage to each other’s work.’
It’s unexpected, but kind of sweet.
