Square Enix has announced that the rather popular and well-received (review) Final Fantasy XV will be coming to the PC in early 2018. Not only that, but Square Enix is teaming up with Nvidia and the game will be fully loaded with Nvidia’s GameWorks tech, bringing cutting-edge visuals, physics enhancements and a 4K resolution boost amongst other things.

The PC version will support the likes of Dolby Atmos and HDR10, so everything looks and sounds particularly wonderful, providing you have the correct rig for it. FFXV’s director, Hajime Tabata, spoke positively on the partnership, saying that, ‘With the help of Nvidia, we are creating a stunning visual experience in Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition, one worthy of this beloved franchise’.

There are a number of GameWorks enhancements that will feature in the PC release, such as Flow, Hairworks, Turf Effects and realism-based physics. This tech will make things like fire and fluid way more realistic, hair and fur will blow and billow just like in real life, and the grass and vegetation will be as lovely as something the Royal Horticultural Society could conjure up.

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition comes with additional bonus content from the console iteration, which until now has only been available to season pass holders. Additionally, the Windows Edition will also get a new first-person mode making the experience even immersive than it ever has been.

Final Fantasy Windows Edition is due to release in early 2018 for PC.
