With its subscription model back in place, Final Fantasy XIV Online now offers a direct subscription model that allows users to subscribe to the MMO with a credit or debit card through its account system.

Originally the game offered a stunningly complicated system where players were required to buy a currency called Crysta which was then spent on their monthly subscription. This often caused issues where players would buy more Crysta than necessary.

According to Square Enix, the addition of the new credit card-based subscription was “by far the most popular request received from the community.

Final Fantasy XIV Online went back to its subscription model earlier this month after a period of free-to-play in which the studio worked to fix a number of major issues.
