Final Fantasy XIII-2, the direct sequel to last year’s divisive RPG, has been given a January 2012 release date, just one month after the game’s Japanese launch.
The announcement, made via a SqaureEnix employee’s Twitter feed, only points to a North American release, but as Final Fantasy XIII was released in North America and Europe on the same day, it would be logical to assume this would, too.
I saw the game at E3, and was pleased to see that SquareEnix has addressed many of the problems fans had with XIII.
“Square Enix has crammed a lot into XIII-2. Expansive environments, new Live Trigger events and multiple endings are what many would have expected the first time around, but they’re a welcome addition nonetheless.” I said in my Final Fantasy XIII-2 preview.
