Final Fantasy VII Remake will delve deeper into the members of Avalanche, director Tetsuya Nomura has said during a recent interview with Famitsu (via Gematsu).

'While preserving the atmosphere of the original, the scenario will dig deeper into the characters, including members of Avalanche,' said Nomura-san.

Presumably this means more than just Cloud, Barrett, and Tifa, as we've also got the likes of Biggs, Jessie, and Wedge to consider, as they were definitely underdeveloped in the original game.

For those unaware, Avalanche is the group of freedom fighters trying to save the planet from the nefarious Shinra Corporation during the events of Final Fantasy VII.

While everyone is likely chomping at the bit for the next info drop, he added that the team is currently 'trying to figure out' when it's going to talk more about the remake.

For now, he revealed that production on the hotly anticipated title is 'going well' and 'moving along more than expected.'

Final Fantasy VII Remake is in production for PlayStation 4, and was announced during Sony's E3 2015 press event. Despite this, we've only just got confirmation that the game has entered full development.

Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be told across multiple parts, although we still have no idea when part one will show up.
