Square Enix has released Final Fantasy VII Remake gameplay footage of the Abzu battle, illuminating how combat will work practically in the new game.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake will ‘surpass the original’, and Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda said that the game will be playable on the next-generation PlayStation 5. However, it isn’t leaving its legacy in the past, as the game will offer a turn-based Classic Mode as well as a real-time action RPG playstyle.
The footage of the Abzu battle was first premiered at Tokyo Game Show, and shows off the combat abilities of Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa against the hulking sewer beast. Also, a proper look at a Summon â Ifrit â demonstrates how they could turn the tide in precarious scuffles in the Midgar slums.
Exceptionally gorgeous screenshots of the Remake have been published, too, and the city doesn't half look like a million dollars. Or few. Also, Tifa, Barret, Aerith, and Cloud need to drop their skin care regime and soon.

And finally, the official box art for the North American and European versions of the game has been unveiled. Quite understated, but boasts a stylish drama to its composition, in my humble opinion.
