Update: Looks like Sony got this wrong. “This post incorrectly identified the release of two PSone Classics, Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. These titles will not be releasing on PSN at this time. We sincerely regret the error,” read a post on the PS Blog.

Original Story The PlayStation Store is being furnished with two new PSone classics in the form of Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger; two critically acclaimed JRPGs from Square Enix.

Releasing on the SNES in 1994 and 1995 respectively, the pair are widely regarded as the finest 16-bit JRPGs of their time, later arriving on the PlayStation.

The two games will arrive as PSone Classics and will of course be playable on both PS3 and PSP.

Off the back of Tokyo Game Show, it’s also being reported that Chrono Trigger will be heading to iOS and Android devices. There’s no date attached to the release yet, but a Japanese teaser site is now live.

For more on Chrono Trigger, you can read a review of the 9/10 DS version, which was released back in 2009.
