EA has revealed that Fight Night: Champion, the new title in the successful boxing video game series, will be released in Q1 2011.

Revealed earlier this year, Fight Night: Champion is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360 and will sport a new single-player mode which promises to “break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game”.

The game will feature between 60 and 65 boxers, and players will take control of the action with what EA is calling “Full Spectrum Punch Control”. This promises to deliver the most realistic punching system ever seen, yet also be the most user-friendly title in the franchise’s history.

Fight Night joins a packed Q1 2011 line-up from EA, which includes Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2, Need for Speed Shift 2 and Darkspore.

After the lacklustre performance of EA Sports MMA, the publisher will be looking to its established brawler to bring in solid sales.
