EA Sports is developing a next-gen FIFA World Cup title, the publisher has confirmed.

The title was mentioned by CEO Andrew Wilson during EA’s investor call last night, and later by CFO Blake Jorgensen while discussing the publisher’s line-up of next-gen products.

“In the last 2 weeks, you’ve also seen several announcements about our product slate for the remainder of this year and into FY ’15,” said Wilson. “We are refining our focus on our biggest brands and great new IP in development, including The Sims 4, EA SPORTS UFC, FIFA World Cup and Dragon Age: Inquisition.”

It isn’t known whether the game will be a DLC expansion for this year’s FIFA 14, similar to last year’s Euro 2012 add-on, or a full disc-based release.

FIFA 14 launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One alongside the consoles next month.
