EA Sports has announced the release of a playable FIFA 09 demo for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The console versions can be downloaded from their respective stores while PC gamers can find the demo file at www.FIFA09.ea.com, Football World (www.easportsfootball.com) and the EA Store (eastore.ea.com).

The demo features Chelsea, AC Milan, Schalke 04, Olympique de Marseille, Real Madrid and Toronto FC as playable teams in a short exhibition match. Players will also be able to enter the practice Arena and view tips on basic and more advanced gameplay techniques. The console demos also offer the ability to adjust and customise tactical settings.

EA has today also revealed a new online game mode, FIFA 09 Clubs. This PS3 and Xbox 360 mode enables gamers to form or join user-controlled clubs anywhere in the world. Up to 50 people can come together in a club and a team of 10 can take to the field when competing in Be A Pro: 10 v 10 Online Team Play.

Clubs are based on total points and will be placed in a division, which will include relegation and promotion to different divisions based on their performance during the season. Club Managers will also be able to scout rival players and recruit them to join their club.

FIFA 09 is scheduled for release on October 3 for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2, PSP and Nintendo DS.
