According to sales data published by the NPD Group, 2K’s BioShock 2, the follow-up to the acclaimed first-person shooter from 2K Boston (Irrational Games), sold over 750,000 units across the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the US during February (tracked January 31 through February 27).

The Xbox 360 version debuted in the No.1 position with sales of 562,900 units, while the PS3 and PC versions failed to chart in the Top 10. This leaves a further 190,000 units (approximately) to be shared between the PS3 and PC.

BioShock 2 was followed by New Super Mario Bros. Wii with 555,600 units, Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360 with 314,300 units, Just Dance with 275,400 units and Wii Sports Resort with 272,500 units.

Mass Effect 2, now in its second month, sold a further 246,500 units, adding to the 572,000 units shifted in January.

There was also room for a couple of additional new entries. EA’s Dante’s Inferno managed to shift 242,500 units on PS3 and 224,700 on Xbox 360, while PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain began with a modest 219,300 units (released on February 23).
