One of the more interesting exclusive announcements during Sony’s press conference was that Far Cry 4 players on PS4 and PS3 will be able to invite their friends to play with them, even if they don’t own the game.
PlayStation gamers will receive a set of “Keys to Kyrat,” which open up the entire game world of Kyrat to any of their PSN friends, even if they don’t yet have a copy of the game.
Ubisoft and Sony are able to offer this functionality via a pretty sizeable download for those who don’t own the game – essentially installing the entire game world on their console, but with all the story missions removed. It’s a lot like 3DS download play, but with a heftier client download.
