Ubisoft has announced Far Cry 3, due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012. The game is in development at Ubisoft Montreal with support from Ubisoft Shanghai and Massive Entertainment.
“Far Cry 3 brings something new and unexpected, while still building upon the foundations of excellence that are inherent to the Far Cry brand,” said Dan Hay, producer at Ubisoft Montréal. “Whether you’re already a fan of the Far Cry series or jumping into the franchise for the very first time, you’re going to be blown away by the gritty story and epic adventure we’re going to deliver.”
Players will step into the shoes of Jason Brody, a man stranded on a mysterious, lawless tropical island. The story will unfold differently depending on the battles you fight and the friends you make along the way, with Jason slashing, sneaking and shooting his way across the island.
