If you needed anymore convincing that Fallout: London is more than just a regular mod then the latest announcements from the developers will probably change your mind.
The whole mod list for Fallout: London is currently listed on the Discord, and you can see how they’ve aggregated the custom weather system. If the mod is going to stick to its truly British design, then grey skies and incessant rain are a must-have. But, to make things even spicier, developer FOLONboogs recently revealed that “[Team FOLON] have custom lighting and weather crafted specifically for the mod.”
A simple aggregation of mods would have been great, but the fact that there’s a custom weather overhaul in-place signs an extremely promising tune for the project. In light of the failed Fallout: Frontier fan-mod that came out a few years ago, there’s no denying that fan-made projects are now tinged with a sense of scepticism. Things could really be different for the Fallout: London project.
We’ve known for a while that weather is going to play a big part in the design of Fallout: London. In fact, a recent FAQ revealed that there’s going to be an “Acid Rain mechanic” too.
“Those classic grey skies and rain will certainly be a mainstay of the mod,” the developers have said. To further the British feeling, there is also going to be surprising inclusions of the former Speaker of the House of Commons, actors from Doctor Who, and the voice behind Baldur’s Gate 3’s Astarion.
