‘The Appalachian Wasteland comes alive,’ begins the description for Fallout 76’s new live action trailer, and boy does it.

There’s a woman who looks to have slipped into a blissed-out trance while wielding a pair of machine guns. Then there’s a deathclaw that seems stub its toe while rolling up to a campfire. It’s all set to Wouldn’t It Be Nice by The Beach Boys. It’s a strange sight, behold:

The trailer aired during an NFL clash between the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints – a high-profile showdown that New Orleans won thanks to 39-year-old star quarterback Drew Brees.

The one thing to say of this new trailer is that its certainly a departure in terms of tone. Perhaps its because of Fallout 76’s is an online multiplayer, meaning play will entail friends and laughs. Either way, it’s hardly the doomy-dark wasteland we’ve all come to know and love.

In other Fallout news, the game has been given two beta tests recently, the most recent was over the weekend. It’s shaping up to be a fresh take, if shaky in its execution. Mind you, Bethesda has warned fans to expect some ‘spectacular bugs’ in the game’s early days.

Fallout 76 is due out on November 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
