Bethesda has announced it’ll be gifting post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout 4 with some fresh updates for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in 2023.

The update announcement came as part of a blog from the publisher celebrating the series’ 25th anniversary – which also included some extra events in Fallout 76.

According to the blog post the update will be free and also be released for PC as well as the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

It’ll include – “performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes and even bonus Creation Club content”.

It’s been some time since Fallout 4 released now – back in 2015, in fact – though new updates for the new systems will naturally be welcomed by fans.

In our review from back then, Simon Miller said the following of the game: “The fact of the matter is, though, that this is more of the same, even if that ‘same’ has been pushed to new heights. “

“If you hated Fallout 3, then there’s not much to get you onside here. If you loved it, then you’ll love this all the more, because of its differences as well as its similarities.”

Up next on the Bethesda RPG slate, of course, is Starfield – which is currently set to arrive as an Xbox Series X|S exclusive at some point in the first half of 2023.
