Having initially claimed allegiance to Microsoft’s new baby, stating that XNA was exactly what the industry needed, Rogue Squadron developer Factor 5 have upped sticks and shifted exclusive development to the PS3.

Speaking at E3, Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht claimed that the difference in power between the PS3’s Cell processor and the 360’s PowerPC cores was the deciding factor stating that he was “shocked by how powerful the new consoles are” but it takes only the mildest of cynics to suspect that Sony’s moneybags may have also had some sway. With both Microsoft and Sony desperately seeking exclusives for their new machines it probably won’t be the last time we see such shifts in development ties.
