During last night’s GDC panel focusing on Fable III, Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux revealed he has set a considerable sales target for the Xbox 360 sequel – it “needs” to sell more than five million units.

The target is not based on any kind of financial goal, but rather what Molynuex would consider a good indication that gamers have been won over by the changes made in Fable III.

Not that Fable II wasn’t a success; the game sold more than 3.5 million copies, eclipsing the three million units the first game managed on Xbox.
