Speaking at BAFTA’s Annual Video Games Lecture in London last night, Lionhead boss and Creative Director of Microsoft Game Studios Peter Molynuex revealed that upcoming Xbox 360 sequel Fable 3 will feature support for Project Natal.
“… confirmed Natal support for Fable 3,” Tweeted video games broadcaster Johnny Minkley who attended the lecture.
Gamesbrief founder Nicholas Lovell also posted on Twitter, confirming what Molyneux had said: “Fable 3 will have Natal support. Is that an announcement?”
The news shouldn’t come as any great surprise; earlier this month at a conference in Holland Molyneux said: “Do you really think … knowing me … I wouldn’t want to use something like Natal?”
The Fable 3 news didn’t stop at Natal, with Molyneux also confirming micro-transactions via an in-game store. Speaking about a more harmonious relationship between the game and its downloadable content, Molyneux said that players of Fable 3 will be able to go into an in-game store and buy content such as a new island to explore, possibly even items such as game walkthroughs and FAQs. This is all very much in the ideas stages, though, so petitions to prevent Fable 3 micro-transactions could be premature.
