Frontier Developments has revealed further details of its upcoming management sequel F1 Manager 2023, after revealing the follow-up was in the works late last month.
The new entry will arrive this summer, with the major new feature being a brand new Race Replay mode which will allow fans to recreate their favourite race moments from the latest 2023 race season with the ability to change the outcomes to how they think it should’ve played out. Also new for this year’s entry is the Sporting Director role, which Frontier say will allow for “deeper management of the pit crew and their training schedule, and challenging players to balance the risk of costly errors against rapid pitstop times.”
Players are promised more dramatic and dynamic races than last year’s entry, thanks in part to a new driver confidence system that will see drivers verbally responding to commands via race engineers while on the track, making for even more exciting and dynamic moments in the races themselves.

Of course, the game will also feature all 23 F1 races from this year’s season as players would expect from an officially licensed game worth its salt, along with six F1 sprint events, with commentary provided by the returning duo of Sky Sports F1 broadcasters David Croft and Karun Chandhok.
Last year’s debut game – F1 Manager 2022 – was warmly received by critics, although sales for the game were ‘lower than expected’ according to a financial report published by Frontier earlier this year. The team are hoping to bounce back with this year’s entry – and remain committed to the series, calling last year’s game the “first game in an important new annual franchise.”
There’s not a specific release date for this F1 Manager 2023 yet – with only a Summer 2023 window being offered, but it’ll launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via both Steam and the Epic Game Store.
