Jurassic World Evolution studio Frontier Developments has announced its next game, F1 Manager 2022 for launch this summer.

As the name implies, this management sim will take players deep into the world of Formula 1. You’ll be trying to lead a team of engineers, racers and fans to glory in the annual racing competition. The game promises a challenge for both new F1 fans and die-hard racers alike, and of course features all the brands, teams and “broadcast quality” presentation you’d expect from an officially licensed title.

You’ll be in charge of all aspects of the team. This includes upgrading your cars, making sure your race facilities are in tip-top shape as well as your finances. You’ll be responsible for hiring and firing drivers and engineers as well as keeping the former happy by meeting their demands. You’ll also have to make those key decisions during a race to make sure your team takes the chequered flag.

The team at Frontier are of course working with the team at Formula 1 to ensure authenticity. CEO David Braben provides the following quote: “We’ve been working closely with them to deliver a truly authentic experience, and they have provided us with extensive access to all aspects of the sport to enable us to do this. We feel this is the start of something special.”

There’s no specific date for the green light just yet, but you can check out the trailer below. F1 Manager 2022 will arrive this Summer on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
