We knew another Assassin’s Creed title was in the works, but we had very few details on the title. Speaking during its Q3 financial conference call, Ubisoft has revealed some titbits of information, including a location you’ll visit in the game.

According to Ubisoft, Ezio, star of Assassin’s Creed 2, will return to Rome, a location only briefly visited in the second game.

“This time, [Ezio] will strike directly against the templar’s order in Rome,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

It sounds as if we should expect frequent entries in the Assassin’s Creed series, with Guillemot stating that the publisher is “going to come very often (to) that franchise”. With the second game now confirmed to have shipped over 8 million units since its November 2008 release, will the franchise now be an annual event?

Multiplayer was also mentioned, although no details were given.
