An open beta for Evolve is coming to Xbox One on January 15, 2K has announced. The beta will be available to all Xbox One users and run for five days until January 19.
The beta will give players the chance to try out the game’s ‘Hunt’ mode for the duration of the test, letting you get to grips with the first two monsters and eight hunters.
Then, from January 17 you’ll also get to try Evolve’s “dynamic campaign” Evacuation, a new mode that sees players fighting across the planet over a series of 5 rounds.
All monster and hunter characters unlocked during the Xbox One beta will carry over to the full game.
An open beta, however, will not be available on PS4 or PC. Instead, a “smaller closed technical test” will be carried out allowing a limited number of PS4 and PC players to try out the game.
From January 16, PC players who were invited to the Big Alpha test or own Left 4 Dead or BioShock Infinite on Steam will be able to take part in the PC test. Then, on January 17, PS4 players who were invited to the Big Alpha test will be able to give it a go on Sony’s console.
The PC and PS4 tests will not include Evacuation or let players transfer unlocked monsters and hunters over to the full game.

Bratterz was given a look at Evolve’s new Wraith monster earlier this month and created a lovely little video discussing everything you need to know about next year’s shooter. If you’ve got 20 minutes spare, give it a watch below.
