Team-based monster-hunting game Evolve has gone gold, and to celebrate developer Turtle Rock has released the game’s opening cinematic.
News of the game’s gold status will please fans keen to get their hands on the action title next month, having already suffered a delay from October 21, 2014.
In addition to releasing the intro cinematic, Turtle Rock also confirmed it has raised $22,700 for charity Child’s Play.
“Team members at Turtle Rock pledged to not shave or cut their hair until the game passed certification,” reads a blog. “For each inch of beard grown by the guys and hair cut by the ladies, we’d donate $50 to Child’s Play charity. The total length? 227.5 hairy inches! That comes out to $11,375 raised for Child’s Play – with the hair itself, if long enough, being donated to Locks of Love. 2K is matching the Turtle Rock Studios contribution, for a total donation of $22,750.”
With the game now out of the door the studio says that it’s focussed on the Open Beta next week, and will then move on to creating “awesome DLC” including a fourth monster.
Evolve launches on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on February 10.
