Turtle Rock Studios has formally announced Evolve, a first-person shooter due for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in autumn 2014.
Described by Game Informer as a “sci-fi multiplayer-focused shooter”, Evolve sees a four-player team of alien hunters battling against a player-controller monster that continues to evolve, growing “larger and more powerful over the course of matches”.
Game Informer states that each hunter will have access to their own unique items and abilities, which they can use to attempt to take down the monster.
“Evolve is being built with variety and replayabilty in mind,” says the site, “the result is a novel mix of cooperative and competitive multiplayer elements that’s unlike anything we’ve played before.”
More details on the game will be revealed in this month’s issue of Game Informer, with additional information releasing on the magazine’s website later this week.
