According to the official Xbox website, Bethesda’s upcoming titles Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and The Evil Within 2 will both support 4K on the Xbox One X. The updated listing on each game’s page states that both titles will run in 4K resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) visuals.

What’s not clear, however, is what form of 4K Wolfenstein II and Evil Within 2 will support. Will each game run in a full 4K resolution, or will they simply be an up-scaled checkerboard, or even a dynamic resolution version of 4K? Whichever way you look at it, it’s nice to think that there’ll be some meaningful visual upgrades over the original Xbox One version of the game, all of which will definitely look better than 1080p.

In a recent interview with Geoff Keighley, Bethesda exec Peter Hines spoke about how Bethesda planned to utilise the power of the Xbox One X, saying, ‘We’re looking for all of our studios to add a level of support for Xbox One X. We Tweeted out last night that we’re working right now to get Skyrim SE and Fallout 4 supported on the X’.

This level of support will also extend to DOOM, and Dishonoured 2, which are all set to receive an update that’ll take advantage of the extra horsepower of the soon-to-be-released Xbox One X console.
