Long-standing MMO EVE Online will allow character avatars to interact with each other via emotes, according to a TacticalGames interview with the game’s leads CCP Soundwave and CCP Flying Scotsman.
Avatar interaction will be introduced in stages, the first of which will be called Establishments, where players will be able to mingle and take part in “various activities”.
Emotes will be introduced at a later point, which the developers say will have “meaning” behind them.
The recent Incarna expansion allowed players to take their avatars out of their ship and into the newly made Captain’s Quarters for the first time in the series.
EVE Online is currently being localised for the Japanese market.
