CCP is planning “something unparalleled” for EVE Online, according to a recent post by the MMO’s senior producer Arnar Hrafn Gylfason.

This includes refocusing the entire MMO development team on core gameplay, specifically spaceships.

The specific deployment date of the winter 2011 expansion for EVE Online will be ‘well before Christmas’ and will focus on improvements to warfare and PvP.

This will include hybrid weapons balancing, factional warfare, assault ships, capital ship balancing, new T2 modules, starbase logistics management, new EWAR-drones, T2 Rigs manufacturing, ship spinning, new font, more captains quarters, and time dilation.

This news comes just after an apology made by EVE Online CEO Hilmar Petursson regarding the direction the game has gone which has resulted in a backlash from fans.
