Long-running MMO EVE Online is scheduled to hit Japan March 28, CCP and Nexon have announced.
The MMO initially launched in 2003 and has since accumulated 400,000 subscribers globally on its Tranquility server.
While it branches out to the new region, Nexon will manage billing, local marketing, and PR. CCP however will continue developing the title and aid in customer support.
The game will also be distributed through mainland China by TianCity.
EVE Online’s Crucible 1.2 update was released last month.
CCP has hopes of turning EVE into more of a mainstream entity than it already is – particularly with their recent slew of “n00b-friendly” introduce trailers – so reaching out internationally can only help.
