Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today confirmed the full content of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, scheduled for release later this month on Blu-ray and via the PSN.
The game will feature 71 beautifully recreated cars including the Audi R8 4.2 FSI R Tronic, BMW M3, Dodge VIPER GTS and Ferrari 599. Players will be able to race each of these cars around six realistic tracks – Eiger Nordwand, Daytona International Speedway, the London City Track, Fuji Speedway, Suzuka and the High Speed Ring – each available in two layouts. Most exciting is that all this can be done online in races of up to 16 players. All this will also be presented in full 1080p.
GT5 Prologue will also include Gran Turismo TV, a world of motoring TV programming including the BBC’s Top Gear.
Sony also noted that there are a number of additional features for Europe – also found in the forthcoming North American release. These include Drift Mode, in-depth car tuning, two-player split screen racing and new online race events.
Retailers say the game will be released on March 28, although Sony still isn’t making an official announcement on the date.
